KD’s Craft Beer Run | J.Wakefield Brewing

Written by on December 14, 2022

SALUD! So when my wife and I moved to Florida a couple years ago, my brother Hashim (and several others for that matter) highly recommended I hit J.Wakefield Brewing as soon as possible. The pandemic delayed things a bit but, here recently, I was finally headed to check’em out!

On my way to Fort Lauderdale (FLL) from Tampa (TPA) via Southwest Airlines, there was a storm literally hovering over the airport. After the pilot made a few loops to see if the storm would pass, he made the executive decision to head to Miami (MIA) so we wouldn’t run out of gas… great decision-making to say the least! Like I mentioned, I’d planned to hit up J.Wakefield Brewing being so close to Miami but, because of the pilot’s mid-air audible, the drive was much shorter – win, win!

So I pulled up on JWB, which is beautifully nestled in the Wynwood Art District, right as they were opening. The whole area is covered with dope graffiti and JWB was as well – inside and out! I may have posted up for a good 2 hours running through just about all of their selections, which was indeed a pleasure – IPAs (Hops 4 Teachers & IKYYKYAIKYKTIKY), TIPAs (Hold It Now Hit It!), Sours (The Revenge of Snarf, Tinker & Cocktail Series: Watermelon Refresher & Painkiller), Stouts (Stout Clout & Double Barrel Aged Two Phones).

They pretty much cover the entire beer spectrum with great brews and their murals and graffiti on the inside are just as dope – Star Wars to XMen. I highly recommend these guys if you’re ever in the area. Even if you’re not, they’re worth the trip. Thanks for having me… Cheers!
