KD’s Craft Beer Run | Alternate Ending Beer Co.
Written by Khalid Daniels on October 9, 2022
SALUD! It always seems like I’m in New Jersey for one night so I always feel like I never have enough time to find many craft breweries . This last visit was similar to previous runs but different at the same time.
So I typically fly into EWR (Newark Airport) via Delta Airlines but found a cheaper, direct flight via SWA (Southwest Airlines) to LGA (LaGuardia Airport) in NY and thought “Cool, I’ll just hop over to Edison (NJ), it’s only about 30 miles or so, shouldn’t take any longer than an hour”. I should mention that I touched down at LGA around 2PM EDT, which I also learned to never do again because NY rush hour begins much earlier than Tampa Bay’s. My sister, Munirah (moo-KNEE-rah), who lives out on Long Island got a pretty good laugh when I told her my plan while making what I thought would be “about an hour drive”.
So after my 2.5 hour drive, I got situated at my hotel, caught up on work emails, changed clothes and then I managed to find the best craft brewery in NJ, out in Aberdeen – Alternate Ending Beer Co. These guys have a friendly, engaging staff and are simply doing great work – excellent IPAs, DIPAs, DNEIPAs, and a superb Oatmeal Stout.
Of course there’s more on the menu – which I expect to be well balanced like everything I had – but I ran outta time. So, long story short, I can’t wait to go back. Lastly, I copped an AE glass as well so you already know… Cheers!
