KD’s Craft Beer Run | Hardywood Park Craft Brewery
Written by Khalid Daniels on December 6, 2022
SALUD! I was back in Richmond just before Thanksgiving and finally had the pleasure of hittin’ up Hardywood Park Craft Brewery! These guys have a couple different locations – one close to Scott’s Addition and another on the outskirts of town at West Creek – but both come highly recommended by my guy Phil Poag. I was staying at the downtown Hilton, across from the Greater Richmond Convention Center, so the one close to downtown just made sense. So me, Phil, and my other guy KG (aka DJ Prolific) went over to touch up a few brews.
Because Phil described their West Creek location as the “farm” or maybe the “ranch”, I didn’t expect the location at Scott’s Addition to be as stretched out as it was – it’s a BEAST! I pulled up to their corner lot and already knew it was about to be a good time! They’ve got a really nice patio with picnic tables, heat lamps and fire pits for when it’s chilly out. I recall seeing a stage, too, so live music goes down, which I’m a sucker for being from Music City (Nashville, TN)! Oh and their pizza’s on point as well… icing, cake, you know the story!
Seriously though, good times were had along with some nice selections via flight, as usual. I thoroughly enjoyed a NEIPA (Distorted Perception), a NEDIPA (Sheep Mullet), and a couple Stouts (Bourbon Gingerbread Stout & Gingerbread Stout). Phil was even nice enough to send me on my way with a Gingerbread Stout (GBS) 4 pack. Thanks to HPCB for having us, for the delicious brew and pizza, and thanks to Phil and KG for always pulling up when I’m in RVA! These were indeed top shelf pre-Thanksgiving shenanigans! Good beer, good people, good times… Cheers Fam!
