KD’s Craft Beer Run | Stone Brewing
Written by Khalid Daniels on December 12, 2022
SALUD! My last run to Richmond (aka RVA) was good as expected. It was right before the beginning of the Holiday season which, for me, officially jumps off around Thanksgiving. So, me and my RVA fam – Phil and KG (aka DJ Prolific) – hit up Stone Brewing. RVA has a ton of other breweries, which I’ve mentioned previously, so if you ever have a chance to go, just go – I personally guarantee no regrets and a lot of wins!
In any case Stone Brewing has a massive facility up there, which I was told serves as their distribution point for the east coast as well as houses some corporate offices. I’ve also had the pleasure of hittin’ up one of their locations in downtown Napa Valley – which, like the RVA location, didn’t disappoint.
These guys, in my humble opinion, do solid work. I always hear they’re “middle of the road” or “not very adventurous” and I’d agree with that. Some folks think that’s a bad thing but I don’t always need “adventurous” every single beer run I have. While SB is pretty easy on the palate, I’d certainly be open to them experimenting with some things, which they might already do. Those offerings just may not have been available during my visits and again that’s totally fine with me. On this run, I ran through a couple DIPAs (Enjoy by 01.01.23 & Delicious Double IPA) and a couple IPAs (Tangerine Express & Hazy IPA) which hit the spot! So no regrets whatsoever, thanks for having me SB, and as always thanks to Phil and KG… Cheers!
